Welcoming, quiet, classic elegance, respectable guests, exceptional professional service and a level of privacy that’s always welcomed, was my experience at The Chatwal. When these expectations are met, I’m more than pleased and looking forward to a repeat. My initial contact and first impression was with Mr. Steven as he was the face and energy that set the stage for what was one of the most delightful and satisfying stays in New York. This spoke to me on a very personal level as it was my southern upbringing.
Entering this exceptional little find, was always satisfying as it was a block off Broadway minus the expected vociferous throng of people and vehicles. To simply enter was other and much needed.
After arriving and checking in, the Lambs Club was first priority. It had all the desired trappings of that bygone, solid power lunch atmosphere where you could have a conversation and it remained yours, and exceptional cuisine only Executive Chef, Michael White could perfect and Chef de Cuisine, Jack Logue could execute. Needing to keep my palate on its game, I opted for the “veggie” burger. Having chosen an item I’d usually pass on, was one of those, shall I say, game changer moments. This in fact was a game changer, so much so if not mistaken, during my stay I had at least three veggie burgers and would have had more, but other tests of deliciousness were to be had and they were exceptional as well.
I also had the same encounter with Mr. Mohammed, as his professionalism, attention to detail and execution of impeccable service made for terrific in room dining experiences.
Having this wonderful recommendation made for a most enjoyable return to New York. I’d highly recommend The Chatwal. When wanting the very best of everything, but not needing to be overwhelmed, this is the spot for a peaceful encounter in the heart of Broadway with amenities to satisfy your every desire. Go, rest and enjoy!!!
