La Capannina

Going on another personal recommendation for dinner, we headed to La Capannina in Capri.    With a promise of authenticity and fun, our curiosity was peaked – – authentic, fun and amazingly great food is what we received.  The time spent was most enjoyable as the staff was always just “a turn of the head” away, never intrusive but, engaged and friendly.  I always make it a point to connect with the staff as I value and appreciate their time and service.  Tonight, that connection was one of the highlights of the evening.  I was extremely excited when I received the wine list and found a 2006 Piedirosso, one of my favorite varietals. This medium bodied, earthy offering was ideal with my veal dish.  The veal held this glorious flavor which I didn’t bother to ask how – – I just wanted more!!!  Using my camera phone, I managed to get a bottle shot unfortunately, I was not so lucky with dinner which means a return with the proper camera is in order.  But I must say the dishes were absolutely divine.  From the amazing velvety fava beans  and stuffed eggplant to my veal.  This is definitely a dining experience you do not want to miss.  Two days later before lunch, we stopped by La Capannina just to say hello and to say thanks again for a wonderful meal.

After leaving La Capannian – – I could not resist the street shot of this market.  The fruits and vegetables were so inviting.  The colors and aromas were unbelievable, just picture perfect
