Perched above Florence, it possesses that rare ability to place one within reach of the city’s Renaissance magnificence while allowing the soul to retreat into the tranquility of the Tuscan countryside. Its history as a centuries-old institution and boarding school gives the property an authenticity that contemporary luxury cannot manufacture. Here, heritage, architecture, gardens, art and hospitality come together with an ease that feels distinctly Italian.

For the well-heeled, sophisticated man, Collegio alla Querce offers something increasingly precious: discretion. It is refined without being ostentatious, welcoming without becoming intrusive, and elegant without sacrificing comfort. One can enjoy exceptional cuisine, an intimate bar, spa, pools and beautifully considered gardens, yet the experience remains wonderfully unhurried. My own experience made this distinction particularly meaningful. Our suite offered an extraordinary sense of peace, luxury and, most importantly, quiet. It felt less like occupying a hotel room and more like inhabiting a detached private villa, with dedicated staff available whenever necessary yet never imposing upon our privacy.
