



Another great time was had at The Grill Room late October as we made our way back to Capella for an adventure in Scandinavian cuisine. Chef Esko’s guests for the evening were two “Michelin Starred” chefs from Sweden. Chef Hans Boren of 28+ and Chef Björn Persson of Kock & Vin who not only prepared some exceptional and tasty cuisine but, brought a great deal of warmth and enthusiasm to our dining experience. I managed a few pictures before dinner, between courses in the kitchen and after dinner as I believed it was best not to disturb guests with my blinding Nikon flash. My Instagram shots do not do the cuisine justice – – sorry!!!!
But, before dinner here are a few pics from the wonderful accommodations as promised as I forgot to photograph our accommodations during the last stay because I was so blown away by the “Rooftop Dining Experience”. Enjoy!!!!









And now to the roof before sunset and then a quick stop by the kitchen before dinner.




After returning from the roof we headed to the Rye Bar where we ran into Chef Esko who insisted we meet the chefs before dinner.


And now………dinner is served!!!!!












With a delicious menu and well executed evening my desire to visit Sweden deepened as I now have two talented chefs that will make my arrival and dining adventures all the more satisfying. Chef Hans Boren and Chef Björn Persson thank you so much for making the trip to DC and for exposing us to your passion. The evening was a delight and I now have a new found appreciation for venison heart – – which I’m now craving. And to my friend Chef Esko – – your hospitality and skills in the kitchen are always a treat. We’ll see you soon and as always, feel free to surprise us with your amazing and creative cuisine.
