Mammá

Mammá, one world to describe this place – – AMAZING!!!!

While dining at L’Olivo our second night, we ran into Fabio the food and beverage manager whom we’d received great dining recommendations from when we stayed at Capri Palace in early June.  Not wanting to miss the next best thing on the island we asked for his pick for lunch and without hesitation, Mammá fell from his lips and we said yes.  Fabio went on to tell us that Chef Gennaro Esposito had a Michelin Star for his restaurant in Salerno, Italy.  Say no more as we were on board and ready for another feast.

We arrived and were greeted with open arms and smiles from the kitchen and the entire staff.  This warm welcome put us in the right space to enjoy what turned out to be one helluva lunch – – this cucina made my day.  To experience first hand the pure joy Chef Domenico and Chef Salvatore translated in the dishes prepared for us was beyond magical.  I’m always struck by that which is produced when passion, wisdom and joy become one.  When you come to Capri you must come to Mammá.

There are those moments when you experience authenticity and it leaves you somewhat speechless.  Well this was one of those moments and here are the sights to confirm it.

“If I had to choose a sentiment to describe my cuisine, it would be “generosity”: the desire to transmit joy
and emotions to others through food, in exactly the same way your Mammá does” – Chef Gennaro Esposito.

To the incredible staff, we thank each one of you for taking such great care of us.  From the moment we entered to the last “see you soon” you all made us feel welcomed and totally at ease.  And a MAJOR THANK YOU to Chef Domenico and Chef Salavatore – – the cuisine was everything a dedicated gourmand would die for – – BRAVO!!!!
