Silversea is my preferred mode of cruising the Mediterranean when I’m not on the water in Palm Beach and Miami. I discovered Silversea in 2009 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I must confess I was somewhat terrified of ever setting foot on a cruise ship thanks to Ms. Shelly Winters’ amazing performance in the Poseidon Adventure and Steven Spielberg’s mind blowing production of Titanic however, the pièce de résistance – – wine and food, got me. With both being such key aspects of my personal and professional life, the idea of having Relais & Châteaux inspired cuisine with unlimited wine squashed that fear and escalated my cultivation of a refined and sophisticated life.

The Silver Cloud

April 17th, Day 1
After an amazing few days at La Réserve de Beaulieu and a gastronomic feast at Le Saint-Paul, we finally boarded The Silver Cloud for 7 days of bliss. I wasted no time in getting down to business by making dinner reservations for the entire duration of the cruise. Priceless info here – – I strongly advise making a reservation in Le Champagne as soon as you can. This private and intimate dining experience is one you should not miss. If you wait, a reservation can be a challenge as it tends be a popular dining spot.
With a crew of 222 and 296 guests, you immediately get the feeling of being on a private yacht with access to the unlimited. Hmmmmm…this reminds me of work – – unlimited access to all that amazing wine. Thank you MacArthur Beverages, I love my profession.
Discovering the Mediterranean and Silversea is like discovering an amazing winemaker whose philosophy and approach to wine revolves around reverence and excellence – – it’s going to be good no matter what happens.

This was my fourth cruise on Silversea and my second embarkation in Monaco. With high-end luxury items and one of my favorite restaurants in gastronomic heaven at my fingertips, Le Louis XV, Monaco’s magical aura set in motion all things a luxury cruise should be.
The following are a few photos from a wonderful lunch at Le Louis XV and a breathtaking view from Vista Palace.
