Lanson……Forever Classic & Refined

This cuvee consists of an extraordinary blend of Chardonnay selected from the following Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards – – Avize, Cramant, Oiry, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.  Combining three vintages, 2003, 2004 and 2005, this amazing and flawless bubbly is truly one of a kind as its expressive nose and palate provided me with uninterrupted pleasure. Brioche, wild yeast and a lingering finish of Myer lemon tartness made this Extra Age gem a memorable and extremely satisfying experience. I must say, every time my palate embraces Lanson, especially when served in Baccarat Harcourt Eve Flutes and at the coldest possible temperature, I’m immediately transformed and transported back to three very special places; Louis XV, Les Crayères and Hotel Raphael. Louis XV as this was my introduction to this exquisite work of art, Les Crayères, because for some welcomed reason the gentleman tending the bar embraced my enthusiasm when I eyed the ’97 Lanson on his list and Hotel Raphel – – It’s PARIS, it was sunny and Chef Etienne Barrier prepared a wonderful lunch after my interview of him.  Let’s just say, I had the pleasure of introducing myself to this Extra Age bottling during an unforgettable return to Paris which forever solidified our bond.  I invite you, if you’ve not indulged in this wonderful ballet of bubbles, to allow yourself just one moment of divine bliss!!!
