My love for fishing and seafood were inspired by those early Saturday mornings I’d spend with my father waiting and hoping for the “big catch of the day.” Well, it never took long for his patience to run out and my frustration to kick in before the “big catch” turned into a stop at the local fish house for the dinner we left behind. Fast forward a few decades later, my travels to the Mediterranean inspired me to go in search of the new and the unusual. I also found pleasure in creating new ways to enjoy the usual.  Funny how it all came full circle – – Patience & Convenience.  My not making time means no patience and convenience is BalckSalt, DC’s #1 fish market right next door to work.  The convenience of BlackSalt changed my diet and created a new lifestyle which led to a healthier and leaner me.  Those days of rising early for Saturday fishing are still on the horizon but, watching sunsets and sipping Sauvignon Blanc somehow seem a little less stressful.  Thanks to my friends at BlackSalt, I’ve more time to do just that.  By the way, ask for “The Sergio” it’s the best stuffed Branzino outside of Liguria, Italy.
