Saturday Morning, May 25th
I must start with one of the most treasured lessons learned from my last trip to Europe – – book your room a day ahead of your scheduled arrival date. This will ensure no waiting once you arrive, especially if you arrive at 6:00 a.m. and check-in is after noon. To the concierge, Mr. Renaud CAUVIN, at Edouard VII, you were the best and I sincerely thank you for making the stay a most enjoyable one. Your attention to every detail made for a smooth and effortless stay in Paris – – from assisting in securing an amazing fourth floor suite with a lovely view of the Opera Garnier to organizing wonderful dinner reservations that were simply divine. Mr. CAUVIN your expertise is much appreciated, and I look forward to having the pleasure of your assistance in the very near future.
Within walking distance of the Opera Garnier, Musée d’Orsay, Musée de l’Orangerie and the Louvre, hotel Edouard VII presents a unique opportunity to surround one’s self with all the necessary offerings to experience high culture. Built in 1877 in pure Haussmanian style, this boutique hotel is the embodiment of Edward VII. The renovation in 2012 was based on four personality traits of Edward VII: Audacity, Seduction, Character and Theatricality. The warm couture ambience designer Christophe Daudré delivered, combines contemporary French-style elegance with a British spirit to create a modern upscale feel. Being very fortunate to receive this newly renovated suite, I delighted in the newness that would always be there to greet me as I returned from all things Parisian. Here’s my home away from home for the next five nights.
