This one is for those who believe liquid meals are not satisfying!!!!

 

The 2011 Les Callioux is one of my favorite blancs from Chateauneuf-du-Pape as it was 90% of my meal last evening.  This wonder blend consist of 80% Roussanne, 10% Clairette and 10% Grenache Blanc.  The notes of lush tropical fruit are seamlessly woven throughout this wine without being overbearing.  With balanced acidity and medium weight on the palate, the finish lingers with sustained pleasure as you anticipate the next sip.  If you’ve never tried any of the wonderful blancs from Chateauneuf, I suggest you pick this one up and find out what you’re missing.
